How to Reduce Heat Risk in Fragile Product Packaging?

Summer is approaching with every passing day. The heat is intense and so is the work at the shipment yards. For owners ready to ship their fragile products, the growing heat is a matter of concern. Fragile product packaging delicate products in order to save them from the scorching heat of the sun would be a strenuous task. It is commonly seen that packaging boxes sit on the shipping docks for days or maybe weeks.

The packing around your product should be sustainable enough to protect the item inside from extreme summer. In case you are working with shipment dock staff you can never be too cautious with boxes of insubstantial items. Therefore it would be wiser to take precautions measures well in time. Here are a few useful suggestions to keep your fragile product safe from external heat through fragile product packaging.

1. Insulation of Food Boxes:

Boxes containing food items tend to be in greater peril against the heat as compared to other products. Although dried food items such as lentils, beans,s and rice sustain better than others, they are still affected by the rays of the sun. You definitely wouldn’t want boxes containing fish, meat, chocolates, or candies to sit under the sun for a long time. For such types of food items, you definitely want to take extra precautions. Therefore, if you are planning to ship such a box that contains a fragile food item then, you should do it in an insulated container. Even if the food product is not individually insulated, you should the least consider insulating the container in which you are going to ship it.

2. Fragile Products Pertaining Heat Risk:

The list of fragile products does not end with food items alone. Many inedible things can be harmed by the ray of the sun. For example, delicate glass décor, candles, Fragile wood products, medicines, paint, and much more. Therefore, if your product has tendencies to melt or break for that matter it would be a good idea to have the shipment box printed as “Fragile” or “Do Not Put Under Sun” by default.

3. Picking Adhesives:

We have commonly seen that the majority of adhesives are good non-conductors for heat. These are usually built to withstand extreme temperatures on either side of the scale. Although exceptions can be seen everywhere, in this case, there are certain types of adhesives that do tend to melt under the sun. In case the adhesive that you have used on your shipment box melts, it can cause the risk of exposing your delicate item to the harsh summer temperature. Therefore, it would be a wise idea to check your adhesives before time.

4. Double Wall Boxes:

You can double-wall your boxes, meaning you can install an extra lining in your box. Although, this is not your ultimate solution to your heat risks it still provides a degree of protection.

5. Packing Peanuts:

After placing your product in the center of a big carton box, you can fill its side with packing peanuts. These are also called Styrofoam popcorn and they ensure the safety of your product by keeping it intact and damage-free. Packing peanuts come in different qualities so don’t go for the cheap flimsy ones.

6. Frozen Ice:

In case you are not shipping any food item, you can also fill up your shipment boxes with frozen ice packs or dry ice for that matter. These will not damage your product or the shipment box.

7. Heavy-Duty Cartons:

The merchandisers can use heavy-duty or big packing cartons in order to protect your fragile items from the harsh rays of the sun.

All these 7 steps will ensure your item arrives undamaged and flawless!
